what to expect

Our journey begins in Dawsonville, GA – just an hour north of Atlanta. We will gather at the Namaste Inn for the first night – and prepare for our hike the following day. On September 21st, we’ll embark on one of the top ten trails in America—a scenic five-mile trek from Amicalola State Park to the HikeInn, where comfort meets adventure. Nestled deep in the forest, the Hike Inn offers cozy bunks (bedding included), nourishing breakfasts and dinners, and the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comforts—yes, there are hot showers and flush toilets!

Each morning and evening, we’ll gather in a circle to reflect, share, and explore inspirational readings and music. Whether you choose to hike, read, journal, or simply be, this retreat is designed to nourish your spirit and deepen your connection with nature and with one another.

We’ll get to experience the fall equinox at sunrise on September 22nd – a truly special event at the Hike Inn.

OnSeptember 23rd, we’ll make the trek back to our cars and lives–  more centered and with deeper relationships with fellow Sojourners

A must-do! If you love the outdoors, a bit of vigor, wonderful company, deep reflection, excellent food, and guidance from many wisdom traditions, then this is your trip! The time at Amicalola State Falls Park was great --- and topped only by going to Hike Inn. Tell your friends, make the time, and do it!

Kris has been an incredible role model and mentor throughout my career. She not only guided me during the foundation of my business but has continued to offer thoughtful reflection and actionable insights at retreats, one-on-one meetings, and presentations that I've attended, which have created ripples of growth and meaningful change in my life. I am grateful for the time I have shared with Kris—and I would not be where I am today without her.

Kris prepared each morning/evening circle with great intention and thoughtfulness, it was a deeply meaningful way to begin and end each day. Lots of opportunity for reflection and connection with others in the group. We became a little family out there in the woods! There was also plenty of opportunity to use the day as we felt we needed. It was relaxed, loving and embraced in a sense of trust. This was a beautiful experience that I will be thinking about for a long time...
